Look Again! The AGW Collectionís Order of Canada Recipients

Celebrate Your Canadian Artists!

Tour the AGW Collectionís Order of Canada Recipients

Established in 1967 on the centenary of Canadaís Confederation by her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Order of Canada is the cornerstone of the Canadian Honours System. Interdisciplinary in mandate, the Order of Canada recognizes service in diverse sectors of Canadian society, not just the visual arts. Since its inception more than 6,000 Canadians have been recipients of the Orderís three levels of recognition:
1. Companion C.C. recognizes national pre-eminence or international service or achievement;
2. Officer, O.C. recognizes national service or achievement;
3. Member, C.M. recognizes local or regional achievement.

Many artists in the AGW collection have earned recognition through their service to Canada at various levels. For more information,†visit†Orders -- The Governor General of Canada.
