Artist of the Month

Waterclour Painting with Jude Quick

Sip & Paint is a new public art program that welcomes visitors to the Gallery for an evening of wine and painting.

Although Jude dabbles in mixed media, watercolour is her primary medium, and love.. Colour plays a dominant role in all her paintings, and random drops splashed on her work add a touch of whimsy to her paintings, all the while maintaining the integrity of the subject matter. Jude has taken classes for years with Sheila Hill, as well as workshops in the United States with Joe Fettingas and Janet Rogers . She has worked with school children on anti-graffiti murals around the city which were funded through Drouillard Place and by the Trillium Foundation. Jude's work can be found at Nancy Johns gallery and website.

Over the course of two hours, visitors will work with Jude Quick, in the second-floor studio and will be guided through an introduction to a traditional fall landscape in a non-traditional watercolour style painting that is loose, light and fun. You'll enjoy dabbing and splashing your painting with the rich colours of fall while employing many of the principles of composition and technique.

No experience necessary: come for the fun, and take home a painting that you will be proud of.

Tickets include a complimentary glass of wine, snacks, painting supplies, and admission into the Gallery’s exhibitions.

The next Sip and Paint Event is on Thursday, November 24, 6 pm. Space is limited, RSVP by November 18.
