Call for Volunteers

The Art Gallery of Windsor is Recruiting New Docents!

If youíre passionate about Canadian art, art education and working with the public Ė donít miss this opportunity!†The AGW is looking for enthusiastic and flexible docents to work with visitors of all ages to inspire new forms of visual literacy. Docents lead exhibition tours, work with teachers and students in our new K-12 School Programs, and assist with public events at the AGW. Multilingual candidates are welcome. Lead Bingo Coordinator

The Art Gallery of Windsor is currently seeking a dedicated volunteer, ideally in early retirement age, who can dedicate 1 day/month year-round to work with our current Lead Bingo Coordinator, former AGW President, Andrew Simko, to run the Art Gallery of Windsorís annual bingo fundraisers. Proceeds from the bingos support the Galleryís curatorial and educational programming and collections care.

The Lead Bingo Coordinatorís responsibilities include serving for approximately 10 bingos annually, one per month. Responsibilities include setting up the cash float, monitoring the session proceedings by maintaining an onsite signing authority presence, and attending to reconciliation at dayís end. Bingos take place any day of the week and sessions require volunteers to be available for an 8 hour shift.

The Bingo Coordinator must be flexible and able to work the following pre-established shifts; 2, 4 and 6 pm; 4, 6 and 8 pm; and/or 8 and 10 pm. Volunteers must be at the bingo hall 2 hours before the start of games and 2 hours after game closing to set up and reconcile the accounts.† The Bingo Coordinator is also called upon to be a liaison with the AGW to deliver relevant forms and updates for compliance reporting to the City of Windsor.

Bingoís take place at Classic Bingo, 2139 Ottawa Street at Walker Road, Windsor. All Bingo Volunteers must be members of the Art Gallery of Windsor and volunteer to other Gallery services and also provide a valid and current-year police clearance to the AGW.
