Repairing a Split on a Wood Panel Painting

AGW Preparators noticed a small split in wood panel of Isabel McLaughlin’s Nipissing Mine, Cobalt, Ontario. The split follows the grain of the wood and extends into the paint layer. Spencer will stabilize and repair the small break. This will prevent more damage and restores the structural stability of the wood panel support.  The slight aesthetic damage to the paint will also be addressed.
