Kente Cloths are strips of fabric woven and sewn by hand in the colours that represent Africa and are used for various celebrations and ceremonies. Kente was developed in the 17th Century A.D. by the Ashanti people, but has it roots in a long tradition of weaving in Africa dating back to about 3000 B.C. Learn the history and the symbolism of the colours, patterns and motifs while creating your own collage.
