AGW educators and Gallery Guides are joining forces with Elder College at the University of Windsor! We will closely examine one work from the AGW permanent collection, while engaging in a lively discussion and a prompt-based craft.
The social distancing, and social isolation, that is occurring as a result of COVID-19 is having significant impacts on the mental health of many Windsor-Essex residents. Enjoying visual art, and engaging in visual art activities, results in positive mental health outcomes for many. The AGW seeks to improve the mental health of participants by teaching new skills through art-making and art appreciation as a way to engage with others and manage social isolation.
This year, the AGW is focusing on programs that enhance Care of Self and Care of Community. It’s no secret that this past year has been incredibly hard on our communities. We encourage folks to take care of themselves, and pass that care along to their communities. We may be at a distance, but a little care can go a long way!
